The New Apostolic Church Relief Organisation (NACRO) has celebrated the graduation of 73 learners in General Agriculture Levels 1, 2 and 3 during the 6th Graduation Ceremony of Chabota Vocational Skills Training Centre (CVSTC).
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Assistant Director Brenda Mwenya commended NACRO for complementing Government efforts in equipping vulnerable young people with practical skills. She encouraged the graduates to utilise Government empowerment programmes, including the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and the Youth Empowerment Fund, to establish sustainable agribusinesses.
District Apostle Kububa Soko reaffirmed the New Apostolic Church’s commitment, through NACRO, to empowering vulnerable youth with vocational skills for self-reliance. He also donated a staff bus to the Centre and reaffirmed that 40 percent of enrolled students will continue to come from the surrounding communities of Chisamba and Chibombo.
NACRO International Board Chairperson Ms Patricia M. Hantumba said the graduation brings the total number of graduates from the Centre to 268 since its establishment in 2019. She also announced plans to expand training by introducing programmes in carpentry and joinery, metal fabrication, bricklaying, and food processing.
The ceremony brought together Government officials, church leaders, traditional leaders, cooperating partners, parents, and members of the public, highlighting a shared commitment to empowering young people through quality vocational skills training.
